A shared streak and levels for couples

Most streaks are a solo affair with a guilt mechanism attached. HeartTap’s is shared: there is one streak for the couple, and a day counts when either of you does anything at all in the app. One partner having a quiet week does not end it.

That design is deliberate. A streak that both people must feed every day turns into a chore, and then into an argument about who broke it. A streak that either person can keep going is closer to how a relationship actually works, where one of you carries a bit more for a while and then it swaps.

One streak, and either of you keeps it

The streak belongs to the couple. Any activity from either partner keeps the day alive, so it survives a busy week, a time difference or one of you being ill. Your longest streak is kept alongside the current one.

Perfect days

A day when you were both active is recorded as a perfect day. On the calendar in Your Journey those days get a ring, and every day is shaded by how much the two of you did.

XP, levels and badges

What you do in the app earns XP into one shared pool, and the pool moves you up a long ladder of levels. Each level has a title, and the titles ahead of you stay hidden until you reach them. Milestones unlock badges, shown in Your Journey as earned or still locked.

On the widget, with a gentle reminder

Your streak shows on the home screen widgets, and the flame dims when nothing has happened yet today. If the day is still empty in the evening the app can send a reminder, and it withdraws the reminder as soon as either of you does something.

A streak card to share

From Your Journey you can share a card showing your current streak and level, for the days you feel like showing off.

Frequently asked questions

How does the streak work?

It counts consecutive days on which at least one of you did something in HeartTap. It is a single streak shared by both partners, so either of you can keep it going. If a whole day passes with nothing from either of you, it starts again, and your longest streak stays on record.

Do we both have to be active every day?

No. One of you is enough to keep the streak. When both of you are active on the same day it counts as a perfect day, which is marked on the calendar.

What counts as activity?

The things you do for each other in the app. On a day with nothing in it yet, the app’s own message is that anything at all keeps it going.

Where do we see our streak and level?

On the home screen of the app, on the HeartTap widgets, and in full in Your Journey, which shows the current and longest streak, your level and XP, a calendar of active days and your badges.
